    Freshly Squeezed

It was a scorcher yesterday in Delaware. I logged my lovely ten miles though I was dragging in the heat. I cut through a very large subdivision to avoid the traffic heat and noise and dreamed of tall glasses of freeshly squeezed lemonade. But those days are gone.....kids are glued to TV's and computers and not lemonade stands. I grumbled at the loss of their innocent lemonade stands.....

And then there it was.....obviously a mirage in the distance....

I have a very strict rule that if I see kids running a lemonade stand, I have to stop and buy some! I had one kid this summer try "add-on marketing" (or whatever it's called)--after stopping to buy lemonade, he tried to also sell me some flowers from his mom's garden!

    What a great end-of-the-day surprise!

Y'know, I really need to start carrying my camera on rides and commutes.....

Ditto that, I keep seeing cool stuff (a wee one of maybe five pedaling along after her dad coming home from grocery shopping...).

Very neat story Pardes, thanks so much for sharing!

    Sweet!
We have a neighbor who would often set up "shop" at the end of her driveway....selling lemonade, ice slushies (more ice than anything ), cookies, whatever she talked her mom into helping her with that day.'
DH and I always were her best customers.
Strangely, tho', she hasn't been out at all this summer.

    Smile Nice Treat!

I sure could have used some fresh lemonade on my long ride (20 miles) last Sunday - all I had was Aquafina and semi-cool Gatorade! My neighbors girls run a lemonade stand every now and then - just not along my bike trail on the way home - lucky you! And I can certainly relate to the heat issue - we are training in the good old Florida summertime - trying to get in shape for the Florida MS150 next May. We have three shorter event rides coming up in Oct. Nov. and Dec., but we wanted to train in the hotter weather since the MS will be held in May again next year in South Florida. Wish us luck. Now I will be thinking about lemonade next Sunday - yummm!
