    Hi Ladies!

So excited to find this forum! I'm in the Bay Area and while I've been cycling for years, I just FINALLY purchased a new road bike that makes cycling distances a pleasure. I'm looking at all of the centuries in Sept and drooling, but while I did do the LiveStrong 50 miler in July, I don't think I'm quite ready for a century so soon. So that being said, are there any distance rides in October? It doesn't have to be a century - I'm just really looking for something to train for - I do better with a goal.

    Any and all suggestions welcome!

go to bbcnet (I am not at a real computer or I would give you the link, but just google bbcnet and go to "ride date".) that's the comprehensive site for organized rides in CA.

I know Grizzly's in October and is a GREAT ride. a bit of a drive from where we are, though.

    welcome to TE! nice dog.

Foxy's Fall Century is in October. Both the metric and full centuries are nice rides, although the 100 miler is prettier.

    Jimmy's a cutie pie.

Here's the link for the ride list with links to their sites: http://www.bbcnet.com/RideCalendar/RideListDate.asp

Foxy's covers some great terrain. I have never done the ride, but have ridden all over there and it is lovely.

Kim - Oooh, the Foxy looks fun! I'm trying to convince my cycling friend to join me. :P If she does, I'll go for the metric, if not, the century (she isn't as far along in training distance as I am). Thanks!

Sarah - thanks for the link! I'm getting more excited about riding again!

Lorri - I registered! Thanks for the info!
