Hello, everyone. I'm a newbie on this forum, but thought I'd chime in.
Well, this is the summer that I finally stoppped talking about commuting to work and actually started doing it. Might have something to do with the price of gas!
Have been reading the threads on the forum for a while, especially the 'commuting' ones - you folks are an inspiration.
My commute is a 30km round trip and it works out that I can only do it 2 or 3 times a week, but I'm loving it.
The best part is going in - early in the morning with very little traffic - wonderfully peaceful start to the day. Second best part - getting home after work and know that you've already done your ride and got a workout!

Welcome!!
So nice to have you aboard.
Commuting really DOES rock.
30 kilometers? (Doing fast conversion....18.6 miles). That's six time longer than my commute but I can ride for fun at lunch and after work.
Tell us what you see on your commute. Urban? Rural?

...for the welcome!
Yep - I'm hooked. Planning next week so that I may only need to take my vehicle to work once.
The commute is urban but through residential areas. We have a good trail system but the paths are rather rough - I ride a road bike so I feel everyone of those bumpsDecided I'd be better of sticking to the streets. Very little traffic in the morning so its easy to enjoy the ride. More traffic at the end of the day, but its been 'kind' to me so far.

Excellent job with the commuting! Isn't it such a good feeling?
Your commute sounds very similar to mine- ~18 miles, mostly urban, and I can only do it 2-4 days a week, depending on schedules and whether or not I have the legs for itBut I figure that the more I ride, even if it's not every day, the less gas I use. And that makes me happy
