Something bad happened on my ride today

Today on my ride, a dog ran out into the road and got hit by a car. I didn't even see the dog until it was being hit by the car. I stopped , but the car did not. I saw this dog get run over by the tire of the car with my own eyes. The dog, unbelievably ran back home. I told the young boy there that he should get his mom to take the dog to the vet and try to keep the dog quiet. When I passed through several hours later and talked to the mom, I found out that the dog had been x rayed and did not even have broken bones, just cuts and bruises.
I can't even comprehend how this dog even survived! It was going to be a very bad day, to see something like that, on my birthday of all days!

Oh man, that's horrible. That's what I'm most afraid of when I see a dog in the road. I'm so glad it survived relatively unscathed!

My grandmother was visiting on my first day of 7th grade. Her dog followed me to school and got hit by a car right outside the driveway. It was my worst first day of school ever!

I hope you have great success blocking it out of your mind.

Happy Birthday BeccaB...Sorry that you had to see that on your ride. I am glad to hear the dog is ok and that the owners did take him to be checked out.

Happy Birthday BeccaB! Your gift is that the dog was unscathed. How scary to witness. Good for you for taking the time to check in on him, and twice! You should have some good Karma for that!
