Hello to all. Just wanted to say hi and tell you all how much im enjoying reading all of your posts. So much great info! I have a giant rainier mountain bike that ive been riding around for a few years and just bought a used fuji road bike a week ago. I wasnt sure how I would like the road bike so decided to go used. I think Im pretty well hooked. I still ride the mt bike with the dogs but ive put about 125 miles on the road bike in a week. Love it. Definately will be upgrading. Looking forward to learning lots of great info here.

I bet Maine is beautiful this time of year . . . DH grew up there and misses it terribly.

Thanks for the Welcome. Maine is beautiful this time of year but we are having so much rain this year. Its so hard to get out and do anything. But the bright side of it all is that everything is still very green this summer. I was so desperate to get out and ride last night that I rode 24 miles in the rain. I think I was more comfortable in the rain though than in the hot sun with humidity.

    welcome MrsB

my husband and I are t hinking of visiting Maine next year. It's where his family originally settled in the USA in the early 1700's and it's also the home of the ANdrew wyeth museum. Now the two of us are cyclists and we're hoping to take bikes with us for this adventure. How's cycling in Maine?
(how's that for a general question?) how are the roads, are there lots of hills,
    how are the drivers?

for six tanks of gas you could have bought a bike.

    Hey there ! Welcome.

Where in Maine are you? If you're uncomfortable naming the specific town, what county are you in?

We are in southern Maine about 30 minutes south of Portland. The weather here is so cruddy lately. I cant believe summer is passing us by so quickly. There are lots of good places to ride here in Maine. I really just started riding roads a couple of weeks ago. My DH and I have mostly ridden our mountain bikes on trails and a little on the road but I had always wanted to try a road bike. So long story short he bought me a used fugi road bike and ive put 275 miles on in a little over two weeks. I think Im hooked. Looking to upgrade maybe in the spring. This weekend we are heading to Acadia National Park to hike and ride. Should be a fun weekend. Thank you everyone for the nice welcome. I really enjoy reading all the info here. Im learning alot.
