    "Men Bike to Impress"

Bicyling has a note about a German study (published in a cardiology journal) that found that men exert more effort and understate discomfort when monitored by a female physician relative to a male physician.

    It made me smile!

This wouldn't be true only of cycling, would it? So, in the future, to get reliable results, medical research will have to be "triple-blind" - everyone who interacts with the subjects will have to be Dr. or Nurse "It's Pat!"

LOL! I've seen our male counterparts in our cycling group just about collapse from heat or exhaustion but wouldn't give in for a lift in my car.

Haha. My husband is just finally considering a road bike. He is an inline speed skater and I've been trying to get him to bike with me for a year. I'm honestly not sure how it will go. Will we bond and have a great time or will we be competitive and hostile??? We shall see.
