Road or mountain biking? I'm from Colorado Springs and also lived in Denver. Would love to give you some ideas on good places to ride.
Biggest suggestion: Drink LOTS and LOTS of water!

Hey everyone! The BF and I are driving out to CO this Friday and will be there until the 11th of August. We are staying in Denver, Silverthorne, and Colorado Springs during our trip.
I'm a little concerned about biking in the higher altitudes. Any advice/warnings/suggestions/etc.? Thanks!

AWESOME! Actually, we are taking this trip to check out Denver, as we may be moving there in about a year. It will be road biking. BF is a cat 3 (will be a cat 2 next season) and I am a new women's racer, so a cat 4We LOVE biking and would love the inside scoop on some killer rides in and around Denver and CO Springs! Thanks!
Actually, I do have advise for the altitude. When we have friends visit we have a newbie kit. In addition to drinking tons of water I recommend taking asprin at regular intervals as it helps to thin the blood. Also take ginger in whatever form you can. Good for your tummy and also a blood thinner. We have ginger drops from Hammonds Candy in Denver, but Celestial Seasonings also has a ginger tea we keep on hand as well. This one works nicely.
