    Harper Update

My little buddy is doing great for the most part. I'm still working on the housebreaking issue but I think we are making progress. I had her "fixed" last week and she has rebounded wonderfully from her surgery. She is filling out and is just so happy. I think she is going to be a great addition to my "Thundering Herd."

Here are a few pictures I took this afternoon while in the backyard.

What ever happened with that lump on the side of her neck? You had mentioned it in a earlier post. Just curious.

The lump is gone. Best friend & vet felt it was a case of cellulitis. It looked like something grabbed her by the throat and broke the skin. She still has a couple of weeks to go on the doxycycline.

She has some beagle in her but there is something with really long legs in there too! I'm thinking she may have some Jack Russell and whippet but that is just a guess.

That looks like one spunky pup

    whippet...interesting.
My dog looks like a long-legged dachshund and she jumps like a flea.

I am glad Harper is becoming comfortable. He is looking more relaxed and at home. All good signs of a happy pup.

Harper does look a bit pointer-ish

It looks like she's almost comfy but is still a bit distrustful. Who knows what her past life was...I think she knows she is home but is cautiously waiting until she makes sure. I think she will be a great addition to your family.

Just when I get frustrated with life and think nobody else helps out on the pet population problem (though we only have rescued cats lately), I read stories like this. Thank you and also thanks to all the foster/rescue people out there.

I think rescues make THE best family members.

I can't wait to see how Harper grows up. That dog is going to have a lot of personality I think.

How're the cats accepting her? I sometimes laugh to myself when our cats get complacent...we DO have a large house and could be so diabolical as to introduce the canine element.
