Friday July 11 rides

Well, I'm a glutton for punishment it seems. I decided to do another roast and toast ride in 82% humidity. I left out in the morning for an easy chick ride and rode 22.6 miles in 91 F weather. We stopped at a nice little cafe and had a little breakfast. It was so pleasant to be in a cute little diner where it was just us and the waitresses. I asked if other cyclists had stopped by and she said we were the first. After breakfast we headed back and enjoyed a good ride home. After dropping my friend off I headed to the house and unloaded the car and showered before heading out to check on hubby and his friends. They had decided it would be fun to do a 64 mile ride. It was noon and hadn't heard from them and I figured I better head out with the sag wagon in case they needed help. I found them at a little cafe and they were really starting to feel the heat. The temps had risen and with the heat index it was 98 F. They were just 3/4 of the way through their ride and were starting to rethink their goals. They headed out and tried to finish the ride, but sitting in the car with air conditioning seemed much more appealing to them. So I picked them up and drove them to their cars. Hubby is sacked out for the afternoon and I suspect the other two are just as lifeless.

I went on a ten-mile cruise at 9 pm thinking it would be cooler...87° and 93% humidity! I was trying to get more practice on my cliplesses, but I ended up feeling a little worked.
