RAIN Riders - Friday Meal Vote

For those riding RAIN next week, we've talked about organizing a Friday night meal together. I think that the known TE participants are:

    indysteel (and friends?)
    SR500 & Mr. SR500
    hoosiergiant & DH?
    makbike
    susan.wells & son
    silver & Mr.Silver

    Did I miss anyone?

We have options, but some may require some coordination and call ahead planning (which I'll be glad to do if it's the consensus choice). Naturally, I'm starting with a pasta bias...

You can vote for as many as you like...

I'm game for any of it. I'll admit the fast option would be at the bottom of my list.

Since I'll be car less may I bum a ride from someone to the restaurant?

My first choice is always pasta! However, I eat anything (except fish heads).

We always stay at the Drury and walk across the road to the Bob Evans -- it's tradition.

Hopefully we'll at least see some of you at registration. I'm fairly certain I'm the slowest one of the bunch, so I'll be at the back of the pack all day Saturday.

Planning this year's ride has been a logistical nightmare so far. First we had SAG support, then we didn't. Then someone else offered to SAG, then they couldn't. Family that normally watches our girls can't; now we have to get them to northern Indiana to stay with Grandma and Grandpa. Truck's in the shop, don't know if we'll have it in time for RAIN (which means no fork mount for transporting the bikes). Bought a bike rack for the car, and have had a devil of a time getting both bikes to actually fit without various parts rubbing against each other.

If the truck's done this week, the plan is to drive it to Richmond on Friday and leave it at Earlham; drive the car to Terre Haute that afternoon and then leave it at the starting line on Saturday; drive the truck home Saturday night; drive to Illinois Sunday morning to retrieve the car; back home to drop off a vehicle; off to northern Indiana to retrieve the girls.

If we could count on favorable conditions and feeling REALLY good like last year, we'd just turn around and head for home after the finish -- we live five miles north of Knightstown, so that'd put us about two miles short of a double century. We'll see...

For a moment yesterday (just the briefest of moments, mind you), I considered not riding so I could SAG DH. But, I start dreaming about this ride the day after the previous one ends -- didn't think I had it in me to give it up.

HooiserGiant - can we park on cars on campus Friday without any problems? I would love to leave my car there if at all possible. Do I need a special permit? I would hate for it to be ticketed or towed.
