I didn't even know he was Canadian, but you learn something every day. Just posted this on bikejournal, on my July 1st ride:

Oh no, uh-uh. It was inspired by his girlfriend of many years who he lived with on the Greek island Hydra - Marianne Jensen, who was Norwegian.
