    My own weight loss experience

    Hello Everyone

I have been away for a bit...

and lots of stories to tell.

    First of all weight loss.

I decided this year will be my year off racing. I will focus on me, my health, my fitness and my weight.

I admit, I was always uncomfortable in my body. Being short, short limbs, things look bigger in the mirror than they actually are. It didn't help with some of hubby's comments either.

Anyway, I decided to change my eating habits.

I am eating quite low calorie. I won't say the numbers, because i don't want to be "critiqued" or judged. I am feeling good and this is working for me. I am eating essentially the "Biggest Loser" kind of way.

I have dropped almost 15 pounds since I started back in March. It came off very slowly, usualy about 1 pound a week.

The key for this working FOR ME - consistency. I didn't cheat or binge very much, in fact i can count on one hand the "bad" days. I was strict with myself. I found the foods that worked for me. I listen to my body, and if i feel like i haven't eaten enough, then i will eat more. But more of the good stuff. I can't say its low carb or high protein or low fat, because the percentages are all in the "normal" ranges for protein/carb/fat in a diet. Its just lower in calories.

I've chatted with a lot of friends trying to lose weight, and the biggest issue i see - is the excuses - drinking wine on weekends, poorly chosen snacks...and rationalizing it away. 10-15 pounds, especially the "LAST" of them, are the hardest to lose. this wasn't easy. I "gave up" certain foods. Do i care? No. I've replaced them with other things, and don't crave. In fact, i find that they don't even taste good, or sit well in the belly when i have a taste. I eat a lot of fresh foods, a lot of raw veggies, and unprocessed grains and lean animal proteins. i weigh and measure everything...although i know what volumes look like what now.

I guess those are my own lessons.

I'm glad to be "back"...hope to be on some more

    Hugs and Love
