    Bored of black shorts

    To disable ads, please log-in.

The title says it all. But I am too afraid to buy a pair of white ones...or any other color for that matter in case they make me look 10 times bigger. Perhaps black and white? But won't I end up looking like a cow?

I like the Gore Bike Wear Ozon shorts from the TE website - does anybody know how these fit and if they are comfy? Also, do they run true to size? I tried measuring myself with a measuring tape and compared it to shorts I already have and the measurements seem off. Where it says I would need a large, I actually fit in a medium. So not quite sure...

I have a red pair and a silver pair of knickers. I get bored with all the black too, not to mention they get REALLY hot in the sun.

    I have these ones:

And I love them! Yeah they aren't as slimming as some, but they feel uber kyoot and the booty is mostly black. The fit is great, and the fabric is unique, stretchy and fitting, but not quite so uh, spandexy.

Are they really as high rise as in the picture? I was looking at these as well and the super high back kind of put me off.

Methinks I will stick to black, when it's all spandex, shiny and tight.

But I do wear shorts with a waistband..that are more suited for walking /light hiking..usually a darkish colour of grey, dark blue or ...black. Yes, for same reason, when I get bored. I've worn such shorts on all-day touring rides.

But then I'm wierd, I cycle without padded shorts.

Yup. I'm still a normal female!

Okay, just for you I took my comfy PJ pants off and did a little grunt and wiggle dance to get into them. Oh Office A**, how you mock me! And yes, they do come up a fair way in the back. I kinda like it though because I have chronic jersey too shortness. I never thought myself to have a long torso, but when I tried on Speedo racing suits I had to get the long one.

Dunno, even on my presently fat tookus I really like how the back looked. Now if I could just finish the bike and get out there on it!

I like the black and white color combo, too... and I have these shorts. They look super cool... though not on me

I'm usually a medium, but gained a couple pounds so got a large in the Ozon short. They are elastic in the back, but not in the front. I thought this would be a good thing, but my belly pops over the front of the shorts if I get in the cycling position! I think I do better with wide non-elastic waistbands, or even just a typical all-elastic waistband. And because I went up a size, the chamois seems wider. Really my issue is I have a size large waist, and am medium everywhere else (okay- now I'm just venting about my own issues, sorry!).

I'd say if you are more proportional, then these shorts will work for you! They are high-quality, have a nice well-constructed chamois, and the white is not see-through.

just a thought... white shorts tend to go see through if wet.... so watch out if it rains.

The Giordana short look neat. The white short discussion reminded me of a thread with a review of the white Assos shorts: http://forums.teamestrogen.com/showthread.php?t=17469&

The same model of shorts is available in yellow, blue and red.

I usually buy a short one size smaller so that the chamois doesn't pinch or bunch up on me.

Have you considered trying a skort? It's pretty handy wearing one when you jump off the bike and runn into a convenient store without looking like you've got a maxi pad sewn to your shorts.

Black shiny spandex really almost burns my skin when the sun is beating down on me. But I do not have the guts to wear white and the thought of wearing a skort creeps me out - too much like a skirt

mt - where did you find red and silver knickers?

I just ordered a pair of grey ones the other day. They didn't arrive yet but I'll let you know how they work out. I wanted to mix it up and have a change from the black too.

I have gray shorts. I put them on. I look in the mirror. I take them off and put the black ones on. Then I go for a ride. I have done this 2-3 times now.

I think they'll be my night riding shorts!
