    sore spots??

hi...seem to have some sore spots down below after 2 long days on riding (80 miles each day). have been riding for about a year, all 50+mile rides and this has not happened before. have a terry butterfly which is/has been comfortable. wore PI's both days. and used chamois cream (assos). just a few bumps near the creases of my legs. are these saddle sores? any suggestions on what to do next time? better/different shorts or chamois butter? thanks!

I don't think those are the dreaded "saddle sores" per se. I get those little bumps in the crease there too..every so often after a long ride.

I think that is more a function of perhaps an inconvenient crease in the chamois where the cream got a little thin, or maybe that spot was missed somehow. Sometimes those little bumps are irritated hair follicles. When I've tried to look 'down under' (and mind you, it's tough with my limited flexibility), they kinda looked like a couple little pimples when its a follicle. They go away pretty quickly without any special fuss.

I also use a Terry Butterfly... coincidence?? hmm. Seriously though, if it doesn't happen often, I'm betting you're doing everything right most the time. No worries.
