Tour du Port, Baltimore, Sun. 10/5/08

Baltimore's Tour du Port, sponsored by OneLessCar.org, is apparently taking place on Sunday, Oct. 5th this year. DivingBiker and I did the ride last year and I had a ball (despite, or partly because of, the train that caused us to re-route). It's a terrific way to see parts of B'more that you might not even know exist.

Registration's apparently not set up yet, but is anyone else planning to put this on their pedaling calendar?
"How about if we all just try to follow these very simple rules of the road? Drive like the person ahead on the bike is your son/daughter. Ride like the cars are ambulances carrying your loved ones to the emergency room. This should cover everything, unless you are a complete sociopath."
David Desautels, in a letter to velonews.com

Random babblings and some stuff to look at.

I'll have to look at my calendar and see if it fits.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

That's the weekend of the Seagull Century on the Eastern shore.
I'll likely be there that weekend with the BPVC folks.

Ahh, that weekend! I don't think I'll be doing the Seagull, but there's a triathlon on the 4th that I'm hoping to get permission to do. If I don't tri, maybe I'll do B'more.

Do you have to do the full 100 for the century?

    For the Seagull??
They have 2 route options: A metric century (100 km/62 miles) or a full century (100 miles). You can do either, and still call it a "century"!

Right, sorry, I wasn't specific...I think I'll do the 62 miles for the Seagull
I'll post something on this separately on the Mid-Atlantic board, but I'd love to carpool to the Seagull. I'm in Capitol Hill in DC, and have a bike rack that accommodates one other bike. Anyone who's interested, please let me know.

You almost have to make hotel reservations now, or else you'll never get anything near the university!
