I finally got my road bike!!! I picked up a Fuji Newest 3.0 at Performance's Anniversary sale today! It was marked down to $499 from $699 and I got $80 more off for being a Team Performance member!! I'm getting used to the thumb/brake shifter combo. I'm in love!! Mandatory pic follows!!

Awesome! Congratulations on the new bike! I love the color combo. When's her maiden voyage?

I'm gonna start looking for mountain pedals real soon as the ones on there are utter crap, even though I have platforms on my hybrid! Any suggestions? I'll probably take her around town tomorrow after I finish an appointment.

This was my first pair of clipless pedals, and I loved them! They are very easy to get in and out of, and the small platform is pretty comfy.

Congratulations!! I saw that bike and considered it myself. Performance is having a great sale this weekend. I am going to take the same $$ I would have spent on this bike and upgrading my hybrid (Trek 7000) to a Trek 1.2 from my LBS.

Keep us posted about how it feels to transition from hybrid to road. I've never ridden a rode bike before and had a hybrid since April.

I tried Shimano SPD (?) pedals on the hybrid but it was too hard for me to clip into. I took those back and got Look pedals instead. I don't think those are considered mountain bike pedals though.

Those are the same ones I have. I second the recommendation.

I use these on my mountain and the Crank Bors Smarty pedals on my commuter. Love them and mountain shoes are so comfortable to walk in. Hmmm Candy in red or Smarty with red inserts! I also hear good things about the Frogs.

Your bike is a beauty, I loved my Fuji I started with. Wish I hadn't sold her, she was a quality little workhorse.

Love that color combo! Red and silver, very nice! Did you keep the stock saddle on it? I have yet to get a bike where the saddle was a fit.

    Anyway, congrats!

    Beautiful bike!

I have Shimano mtb pedals on all my road bikes: M520's on the commuter, M540's on the road bike, M950's on the race bike. The 520's are the best value.

I recently got Crank Bros. Mallets because of the platform size.

The ankle is doing much better, only a little tender to touch/flex now. I'm gonna start color coordinating soon. Matching water bottle cage, etc. AND ITS ALL Y'ALLS FAULT!!! For now the stock set stays until I put some miles in.
