    Raise your seat, Barak!

Not political at all... http://news.yahoo.com/nphotos/Barack...81bba7671c18e8 - nifty bicycle but doesn't it look like the seat should be a tad higher? (Wonder if he would have been wearing lycra were it not for the press...)

How cool that he was riding around town yesterday! So was I, but not down in his neighborhood. Wouldn't that be something, to pull up next to a guy at the stop light, and it's Barak?!? Although I sincerely hope that he was surrounded by Secret Service on his ride. Cuts into the spontaneity, but I want him protected by more than just his helmet.

    And I agree--raise the seat!

so cool he is riding a bike. sure is different than bush riding a bike.

And he had a hitch hooked up to his bike. I wish they had taken the whole picture. instead of cropping like they did. And yes he needs to raise that seat. ooo that flat tire not so good.

    still, very cool

Welp... if there was a kiddo on the other end of the hitch, that's probably a policy thing. (Snork... or a secret service guy who couldn't ride on his own?)

HA! I can just see the poor Secret Service guy assigned to literally protect Barak's backside..."c'mon, climb in the bugger. Nobody can see it's you...come on!"

The whole bike looks a bit small for him if you ask me.

Well, I admire his taste in bikes (a Trek)... and looking at the left leg where the pedal is just a little past full extension, his seat height isn't too far off. At least his knees aren't up around his ears like most of the other bros in the 'hood ;-) And the dude is wearing a helmet and glasses.

Definitely could use some air pressure, and is apparently a wienie when it comes to riding in the rain...

He's got his pedals right in his foot arches.

There are 3 photos in the series of him on his bike, and in one of them he's turned as if he's yakking to someone behind him - which is cropped out.

it looks like a child's trail-a-bike. and am I crazy, or is his helmet unhooked in one of the photos?

Honestly, the fact that he's out riding, and in a commuting type of way makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

    But...

I agree that the frame is too small and although his left leg looks OK it's a little too bent and it would be worse if he had the ball of his foot on the pedal ranther than the arch. And yeah, definitely needs some tire pressure.

Hee hee.... secret service in the Burly. That's an image that makes me smile.

I'm scared for him out on the streets unprotected like that. I'm sure the guys were hanging around somewhere, but there are also weirdos everywhere, too.

And give him a break--he's out with his kids! We should all be happy he's got a helmet on!

I was always impressed with JFK Jr who rode his bike often. Sigh. I will always wonder.....
