    Space Shuttle/ISS

Totally OT, but do any of you TEr's follow the space program?

I am kind of a NASA "junkie", and am always in awe whenever I watch the Shuttle crew and ISS crews in action. I watch NASA TV at home and on line at work. Right now, they are getting ready to go outside and start installing the Japanese space lab. The first section was installed on the last mission. When you follow this long enough, you really get to know the astronauts. They are all so professional, but very personable as well. In "my next life", that's what I want to do. BTW, the commander of the last ISS mission, Peggy Whitson, listed cycling as one of her activieies.

Best wishes and a safe mission to the astronauts!!

Cool stuff! I have NASA TV playing on one of my computers almost 24/7, although right now my focus is on the activities happening on Mars.

For ISS fans, here's a link to help you calculate when you can see it pass overhead at your individual locations:

Simply choose your location in the Configuration section, then choose whichever satellite you wish to find information for. Have fun!

Count me in! My husband and I follow the program and I get goosebumps every time I see footage of when Spirit and Opportunity landed successfully and told all those people who put their blood, sweat, and tears into the missions that they landed safe and were operating. It's absolutely fascinating stuff!

Has the toilet been fixed already?

I haven't heard about the toilet repair yet, but I hope it works. A lot ot guys will be standing (floating) in line to use it. Those two little rovers are amazing. they were only supposed to have a three month life, but they are still running around up there after three years!!

It will be a sad day indeed when those two finally fail. NASA has been having a string of successes in that regard. Definitely exciting times in the space program.
