    Dang It!

We are finally supposed to have a couple of decent riding weather days so I can take out my brand new Trek 1500 this week, and I woke up with a head cold this morning. I managed one fifteen mile ride the day I picked up my bike, and it has been sitting in my foyer ever since. (It looks very nice there and I'm considering keeping it there permanently! ) I am also anxious for the change to Daylight Savings time so I can start getting out in the evenings when it's nice. If we do actually get some nice weather, I think I will still toodle around the neighborhood on it, nice and slow so I can breath. Danged head colds!

You might be amazed at how much your head clears up when you're getting the blood pumping, the fluids flowing, and can blow snot every which way.

I can't wait for the end of DST either. C'mon, Sunday!

Get movin on that brand spank'n new bike...

Flush that cold right out with a nice oxygenating ride.
I have had the same thing and when I ride the crap comes out much better. Show who's boss....the cold or you?!
If however you are dizzy you need to flush it out with water and fresh juices! Garlic... vampires don't like it, neither do colds.
The bike is calling and you know it!

which is a very fine art I have never learned! the "every which way" usually means every which way on me!! I figure it must be like spitting - another very fine art I never learned!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

I recall seeing this somewhere, maybe here: if it's all above the neck (congestion, etc), go for it, but if it's in the lungs, rest.

And learning to properly "farmer blow" is an important skill. Try it on solo rides at first, and anticipate the need to wash your gloves after those test rides. And don't be timid about it: blow that sucker!

I bet Martha Stewart wishes she had a bike in her foyer!

Just went out tonight for the first time in 2 wks and ran the dogs. Less than a mile of my usual 3 mile run but it was a start. Planning on riding to work tomorrow. Figured I'd ride tomorrow and Thurs if tomorrow goes well. *shakes head*...I know what ya mean newbie.....but I just keep telling myself - the warm weather is coming...I"ll have Plenty of chances to get out there.....a setback now would be Very bad!

Martha was released and brought home to spend time under a house arrest type time for the rest of her term. She is only allowed a couple of hours out of her home each day. The rest of the day she is inside... creating her next line of kitchen linen to be sold in stores near you....??

When I received my gorgeous Trek 5200 WSD in celebration of my five-oh it sat in our dining room for months Now it is displayed on a floor stand along with DH's 5200. Our 7500 FX bikes are also on display racks in the house.

During the winter and when not in use during 'biking season' my beautiful yellow & blue Trek 2200 sits in our downstairs family room on the trainer ...

The only bikes not in the house are our mountain bikes - along with #2 son's mnt bike and #3 son's hybrid.

While I b*tch about having to dust ... for some reason I never complain about the bikes. If any of them start to show signs of dust settling on the top tube .. it's time to get it out and blow the dust off!

    Enjoy that Trek!!!!!

I had to move Fluffy into the garage this week. We had to move this in. I guess I'll have to start carrying a garage door opener,
