    Swimming and eyes

I had my first swimming lesson today. Now my eyes are burning. I can barely see my computer. Is there anything to make the pain stop? I'll wear googles next time but please tell me there's something I can do now.

Go get some artificial tears (nothing that says, "get the red out" or "allergies"). Just plain old tears (e.g. Systane). Keep your eyes well lubed with these for a day or two. Do you wear contacts? If you do, take them out right now. You can get serious eye infections swimming with contacts in. If you're a contact lens wearer, you should probably go to an eye doctor.

I don't wear contacts fortunately. I will wear my goggles from now on though. Thanks for the tip about the artificial tears. I'm feeling better now. They still sting a bit but don't really hurt.

Visine is pretty good for getting the red out after swimming. I have the same problem when I swim in chlorine pools. You'll still be a little pink, but the drops will get rid of the worst of it.
