    A couple of duh-moments today:

Down to my LBS today to try different saddles again, and sitting there on an Specialized Alias (right width, wrong cut-out) then on a Jett (wrong width, right cut-out) I suddenly realized why my favourite bike shorts are the old, sloppy ones with "the huge diaper padding", and why the newer, sleeker ones with socalled better padding just aren't quite as comfy. I have narrow hips on the outside but wide sitbones on the inside, and I NEED a very wide padding to cover those same sitbones. The padding on my newer shorts just barely touches my sitbones. DUH!

At least that duh was a useful one.

Next one: after working on my bike today in the back garden I wheeled it out of the garden and got on just to coast down and around to the front door. Was trying out the newly adjusted brakes, tried to do a little bunnyhop, forgot I wasn't wearing bike shoes and slammed the pedal into my shin. Ow! DUH!

Can they get a Lithia for you to try? The front part of the cutout resembles the Jett more than the Alias (it is a woman's saddle), although it's not open in the back, if you have tailbone issues.

A Lithia is what I've wound up with right now, as it was the one my LBS had in stock. I'm glad I didn't wait to order a Jett now you're saying they're unavailable! I was a little skeptical about the extra padding in the Lithia as compared to the Jett and Ruby, and I haven't done a long ride on it, yet, but it's plenty comfortable over 45 miles.

    And it's cheap.

Good tip, thanks. I'll check it out. It's just the black one the (Norwegian)supplier was out of, apparently I can get a Jett 155 in white and pink at another bike shop. Which will look pretty awful on my red and black bike but it's better than the 143 width saddle I have.
