Please help. I have pissed off the running gods.

I need some advice on how to placate the running gods because I seem to have pissed them off.

Over the fall I had worked up to a 12 mile run on my way to a half marathon. But over Thanksgiving I got plantar fasciitis which sidelined me for 3 months. I finally was able to start running again when I started taping my foot. Then, on my first outdoor run I strained my soleus muscle and was out of commission for over a week. I got that back together. Then yesterday, I went for a 6 mile run, with my foot still taped. For the first time I got a blister from the tape and now have a hole under the ball of my foot and can't run AGAIN.

What can I do? Is there a particular candle to light? Prayer to chant? Color to paint my body? What???? (I draw the line at animal sacrifice.)

    Welcome to the club?

I believe to get rid of an overuse injury you have to significantly alter something about the exercise you do.
Otherwise it will keep coming back.

Like my pseudo shin splint (they're something different, and I'm just trying to learn a different stride).

You can always pray to Lugh the many-talented, who hosted games beginning of August in honor of his mother, thus I would consider him a good deity for sports.
It's a little secret you didn't know about us women. We're all closet Visigoths.

I feel for you. I pissed of the tendonitis Gods this winter. While dealing with my ITB and the patellar femoral syndrome that went with it, I got tendonitis in both elbows from swimming with a pull buoy. It really was just too much.

I think chanting, burning of stinky running socks and leaving offerings of power bars might do the trick...

Hang in there...we are here for you.
