    Infinit Nutrition

Well, I finally decided to check out the website to see what it was all about. RunningMommy on here has talked about it... and my cousin was talking about it too.

I just shyed away from even looking because I figured the cost was going to be outrageous. I'm just a slow age grouper in tri's... and I figured I wasn't really worth a customized sports drink.

Since I started my IM training, I have had a struggle with getting in the right amount of carbs and calories per hour. My coach told me to hit around 260 calories and 40-60 grams of carbs. Trying to eat that much per hour has been a struggle.

So I checked out the website and created a drink with the right amount of carbs and calories for my IM training. It was easy and looks pretty cool.

I know I'm sounding like an info-mercial here... but I was actually surprised that I could order it so easily... and I paid $25 for a small. They said it has a 100% money back guarantee. So if I don't like the mix I made. I return it for a new one.

Anyone else using this stuff for their nutrition on the bike, etc.? I haven't gotten it yet, but I'm really excited about the idea of having liquid nutrition on the bike!

I've been using it for a while. I swear by it. It took me a few tries to get the right mix, but once I did it was worth every penny.

Ooh, I'd love to hear more about this, too. I've started experimenting with taking in calories since I've started riding longer. I found that gels are incredible hard for me to take in. They make me want to gag, I don't know if it's the sweetness of consistency but it's all I can do to get them down. Gatorade makes my stomach cramp and eLoad Heat Endurance is ok but not very tasty. Infinit is actually the same price as eLoad.

I love the idea of being able to dial down the flavoring with Infinit.

    Well you've heard my speil...

I swear by the stuff. My mix tastes kind of salty, but it's what my body needs.
What I like are all of the different pre made mixes they have as well. I use a custom blend on the bike, and the heat mix on the run.
I guess we'll see next weekend just how well it works.
Tho if I'd actually been DRINKING it last year I prolly would have finished! OY!

I just ordered a refill last week and requested they send me some cards. Whenever customers ask me what I use I ALWAYS tell them to try infinit. And I don't get a dime from them. But for me it's not about that.

Hope your blend works out. If not, keep trying. They should also be at the race, as they were last year.

Oh- and one last thing. They are a green company. If you save your old tub you can re-order your mix in a bag and they'll take a dollar off your order.

This is one of the things that I like best about it. Gatorade and all of those other drinks were just too sweet for me. With the Infinit, I can make the flavor less intense, although it does end up being a bit salty. But that's much easier to get used to than the sweetness.

The suggested amounts for my custom blend were right on for calories and electrolytes. The part that I had to play with was the protein concentrate. More protein makes it fizzier when it gets shaken up (like when you run) and it's can be a bit harder on the stomach. I started with 4gm/serving of protein. That was fine for the bike but way too much for the run. I'm now using 1.5gm protein for both. I think I may keep that for the bike and order a blend without protein for my runs.

Yeah roadie, I would go w/ two different blends. I do that. Heat mix on the run, custom w/more calories on the bike. But I don't add protein to either. My stomach can't take it. That's what is so cool about the custom blend.
I have to say, I think gatorade is EVIL. You might as well drink straight corn syrup! Seriously, if people paid any attention to the ingrediants on the bottle they would be horrified!
After the cavities I was getting on the SIDES of my teeth were attributed to using gatorade in training, I stopped drinking the junk. Funny, haven't had a cavity since...

K- I believe that the owners of the company will be at Ironman, so you should stop by and chat w/them. They are VERY cool people!

Does anyone like Shot Blox? I love them. They taste like chewy fruity candy. I have to drink lots of water with them but I like them a WHOLE lot better than any kind of Gu (ew) or beverage. I like the jelly beans things too.

That being said, I really don't take in much when I ride unless I skipped a meal and then it may be 100-150 calories total on a 1 1/2 - 3 hour ride...
