The first one is the high water of the Mississippi River just north of Memphis. I couldn't resist riding around in it just a little!
The others are of a stencil done by an unknown, but apparently cyclist-appreciating graffiti artist in town. I am trying to track him (or her) down & let him (or her) know that I like the art!
nice photos!
As a business owner, I find I really can't enjoy any kind of graffiti anymore, no matter how artful.
But, that picture of the road, water and trees was really, really neat. Thank you for sharing pics!

I think the stencil is on plywood, the graffiti on the actual structure is by another "artist".
I do like that stencil. I've seen a number of stations closing in my town, wonder if that's happening there too?

Yeah that's cool - is that a political statement about a gas station actually closing? (Or is the station just being re-furbished or something?) Certainly it is out of order now.
Cool pictures.

I don't know when the gas station actually closed, but the price on the sign outside is $2.74 per gallon
Most of the graf writers in Memphis (with the exception of gang-related stuff) will only paint on structures that aren't open businesses or peoples' houses. It's sort of an "honor among thieves" thing. I'm trying to track down the stencil-maker to get some background on the piece.
I actually like how cool that is. It's powerful in a minimalist kind of way.
That road looks like the one in the state park. Are you guys drying out much if any?![]()
I dig that first picture. Looks peaceful.

Is that Shelby Forest or Mud Island?

That's the road to the boat ramp in Shelby Forest, about 1/2 a mile from the base of the "group camp hill" (biggest in Shelby County!)
