    My New Bike

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Friday I brought my new bike home(out of layaway) - 2007 Giant OCR 3W. I have to take it back to the LBS - once I shift it into the smallest ring on the front derill. it would shift back up from there. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, the shifters on the brake levers. My new purple handlebar tape will be in on Tuesday. It rides really smooth, and so light weight. I just rode up and down the rode - till I get it adjusted. Its going to take a little getting use to, I'm so use to riding my hybrid(Trek 7100).

That's awesome they let you pay for it via layaway. Yes, pics please!

Congratulations. I looked up the Giant on line, couldn't wait for your pics. Very nice looking bike. Having moved from a Trek hybrid to a road bike a couple of years ago myself I can relate to your excitement. Nothing wrong with a hybrid, they certainly have their place, but they just don't accelerate like a road bike. The fact that my hybrid is named "Truck" and my road bike is named "Bullet" pretty much tells it all.

    Enjoy the new bike.

Nice! I have a Giant OCR C3 composite, I love my bike. I love Giant bikes.

Definitely have that shifting looked at, it shouldn't do that. You should have a year of free tune-ups and tweeks anyway, I'm hoping.

    Congrats

    Me, too!

Today I just ordered a road bike, a Felt Z65. I've been riding a Trek 7100 Hybrid for the last year and am ready for more. I want to do longer rides, including a century at the end of the year.

I know you are excited, because I sure am. Enjoy your new ride!

Hmmm, well, Proteus didn't I don't think but the price was right. Granted, I probably didn't ask enough enough stores but there is something to be said for instant gratification and being able to take a bike home right then and there, right?

Beautiful bike! I hope you have a great summer of riding it.

I like that you bought through a layaway plan. People don't do that much anymore because credit cards are so easy (too easy!). I remember buying a dress on layaway when I was in high school, and it was so satisfying to go in every week with my payment and then finally take it home--it was mine!
