    Hula Hoops!

Ok before we went on our big group camping trip (for dh's 50th birthday)this past weekend I decided to make hula hoops.
Well there is a whole group of people out there that take this seriously!
I looked up on line how to make one. These are not your Wal mart hula hoops! It took a bit of searching to find what I needed.
Oh my gosh they were a huge hit! Everyone played with them. I made 5 different one's. I made a special one for my 4 year old friend who has not been able to use a regular size one. So I made her a smaller one and by the end of the weekend she had it down pat!
I used colorful tape. Need to find some better cheaper sorces for tape though. But anyway I have found these things are great core excersize too. I stood out in my front yard and hooped for a while today. i am sure the neighbors had things to say about that. anyway it was great fun! If anyone wants to know how to make them let me know!

I'm curious how you made them, too!

I use weighted hula hoops at the gym. They hurt the rib cage, but they're fun to do.

Yes I do! My husband is very handy with everything> But I draw the line when it comes to installing roofs, anything to do with gas and carpet. Roofs because of the danger of falling. Gas for obvious reasons and carpet because you really want to have the right tools for that and i don't feel like storing a tool you might use every 10-15 years. But he is really good at anything house related. I am very lucky.
We have the pvc cutter becuase we put inour own sprinkler system.

A very good idea for anyone with a husband. Hehehe.

Thanks for the hula hoop ideas. Ours usually end up in the trash - too flimsy.
