    Garmin Forerunner 305

I currently use a Garmin Forerunner 305 for my running needs. Does anyone have any experience with the cadence sensor that is compatible with my Garmin for bikes? I'm debating whether to keep using the Garmin and add the cadence sensor, or to just install a permanent bike computer. I also think they sell a quick-release system so that you can easily remove the Garmin from the bike for running. Any experience with this, too? Thanks!

Believe or not, the easiest and cheapest bar mount for the Forerunner is the Polar bike mount. At least this was the easiest and cheapest solution a year ago. Works very well.

I have a Forerunner 301, which doesn't have a cadence option, so I put a Cateye computer on my bike too so I can at least monitor my cadence in realtime. I crave a 305 (or even a 705), but really can't justify it.

I think if you're serious about your training, you're going to want to be able to download your cadence track along with your other data (which obviously I can't with the setup I have), so your choice is $50 for the Garmin cadence sensor vs. $300+ for a whole 'nother computer.

The handlebar mount for the 301 works fine, FWIW. You don't have to take the wrist strap off (which as you know from yours is a major PITA), just loosely fasten it. The OEM handlebar mount for the 305 is actually a couple of bucks cheaper than the Polar unit. Don't know what shipping would be though.
