Lost my commute - looking for a ride partner in pdx

    Hi all,

I've just moved from a 7 mile commute to a block and a half commute. It's been a week and i'm going a bit nutty - it's spring in oregon and i'm not riding my bike! From 14 miles/4 days a week to nothing is leaving me dejected.

So! I'm looking for a ride partner/buddy in the pdx area.

I'm available all day thursday and friday, and saturday thru wednesday after 6.

I live in the pearl so i can get just about anywhere in town pretty fast.

I've always been a commuter, so i'm not sure what my riding level is. Probably advanced beginner? I could ride to work in 27 min if I booked it. I'm not the strongest hill climber but i'd sure like to be.

    Any takers?

    Thanks, thanks

    miss glh

I'm not in PDX, but I feel your pain! I lost my commute when I moved and started working from home. I love it, but man, I miss my commute! On the plus side, I have more time to ride, and I use my commuter bike for urban errands and grocery shopping.

Good luck finding some good riding buddies.

thanks tulip! yeah. i'm psyched about walking to work and everything else, but not losing my 30 minutes of sweating and thinking!

though, i'm already dreaming of a dutch style grocery-getter - with skirt guard adn fenders for downtown riding! I love my road bike - and can't wait to divest her of her paniers for long distance riding. My bike and I will easily lose 25 lbs when those go in the closet!
