    just laying here!

I threw my neck out today. It started tightening up after my bike ride. I jumped on my scooter to run to the post office and felt it start up.
Now I am lounging ( I guess you could say) ,ice pack on shoulder neck area, computer on lap. It hurts to breath deep!
I have a busy week too, not good timing! it's hubby's 50th this week. We are having a camping weekend with our close friends. And tomorrow I have an old high school frined visiting with her two year old, and staying over night. So I need to clean the guest bathroom and bedroom. I should make hubby do it but it's my friend.
I will have to take a sleeping pill tonight so i don't wake up in pain. Sigh.......
I think this happend cuase the temp dropped like 20 degree's,
No ride for me tomorrow.....and I so need the stress release. i could go for a walk instead. There is a great forest hike close and everything is in bloom right now too!
    So pretty!
Ok that is where I am at tonight. What are you all up too? Anything fun?

visiting the folks, which I like. So sorry 'bout your neck, Brandi. Take it easy. If the bathroom doesn't get clean, it's no big deal. I'm sure your friend can handle it.

    did I spell that right?

I'm at Home #2 painting it with SilverSon. Silver's in god's country (Alabama) with SilverDaughter checking out colleges.

They went to Gulf Shores, now they're in Birmingham. Tuscaloosa tomorrow, then back to Gulf Shores. Then to Auburn, then back to Gulf Shores, then back to Indiana....Hmmm, I can't wait to see the gas bill this month...SilverDaughter planned this trip...she clearly doesn't pay for her gas!

Found out tonight that Home #1 was "Signed". Someone placed 75 yard signs in our front yard. Hmmm...shame we're not there to enjoy it or to get mad! But, the yard did need aeration!

I do this 4 times each year. It is a pain in the neck !!! harhar too soon?

I don't have a cure, but what I do is heat it up too loosen up the muscle. I've used heating pads, the nice rice pack things, and even in a pinch boiled water in a spaghetti jar. I alternate that with gentle stretching.

But wait are there other ways to throw a neck out? I only know one way and this is the thing that works for me.

Hmmm...when my neck flares, I get chiropractics and accupuncture for near instant relief...

    Hope it clears up soon.

I always think tightness in the neck or shoulder area is from stress whether you realize it of not. At least it is for me.
Take a warm bath (Calgon, take me away!)
sen Mr. Brandi out for strawberries and have him feed them to you while you relax in the tub

Brandi - a doctor of osteopathy could help, they tend to do things on a more soft tissue/gentle level that could still work well for you. It really sounds like one of the ribs in the very high part of your upper back is not moving properly. You might need help with this.

    Hope you feel better soon.

Brandi - warm rice bag with lavender on your sore neck AND DH feeding you strawberries.

So it's the morning after, how are you feeling? I find shoulder rolls help somewhat, but I've done the same thing. The best I've found are warm packs and time help the most. Still remember way back when, I worked in an ER in an Osteopathic hospital, had a "crik" in my neck, Doc notice it, and round about 2 am when things quieted down, he sent me to an exam room, we were chatting, my head is off the table resting in his hands, being rolled around, and he asked "when's your birthday", my response was "June twenty-$!*t" First time ANYONE had ever cracked my neck. Took him another hour to sneak up on me to crack the other side. But I got better.

If you can find a chiropracter you trust, they should be able to help you. Unfortunately I haven't found one around here. I've had really good care, and really bad care - worthy of "crack-o-practer" in the past, so I won't go see anyone without referral from a happy patient.

Really, I hope you're feeling better and the visit with friend and her 2 yr old goes well.

Have this kind of problem in my lower back occasionally. Probably has different causes--in my case, spending too much time sitting and working at my desk and not enough other kinds of activity.

So I can't offer any ideas for convalescence, other than to take care of yourself, let the Mr. take care of you, and relaxxxxxxxxxx. Hope you're feeling better soon!
