    I didn't see a thread.....

Went for a 16 mile ride after work. For some reason lately I have been a little burnt out on everything. We have only gone on a few rides in the last month. It felt good to be out, temperature was mid 70's, wind was a little strong but we had a great tailwind home. Best part is DH cleaned my bike yesterday and she was riding like a dream.

6 blocks, to the pet store to pick up dog treats and back. But it's a beautiful day and even that was fine.

Only three of us showed up for our twice weekly after work ride - even the ride leader wimped-out! Claiming it is his 27th anniversary.....the nerve!

25 miles, Sunny, 15 mph wind out of the south, 66 degrees. Beautiful!

KathiCville had planned to join us but was sent in the wrong direction by some well-meaning-directionally-challenged local and she missed the start of the ride. She made the most of it, but I will let her post her own ride.

First road bike outing of the year! Pulled it off the trainer and took a quick spin around the neighborhood. It was 49 here today...Yahoo!

6.5 whopping miles. But they were happy ones!

19.5 miles after returning home from work, the car dealership and the vet's office. It was a beautiful day here - no tights, no wool socks, no toe covers, no helmet liner, no winter jersey, no warm jacket. Instead I rode in my shorts, a SS jersey and a light jacket. It was wonderful! Legs are very tired and when I returned home I pulled out my journal - I've not taken a day off the bike since Feb. 24 - no wonder my legs did not have a lot of pep to them. I think I'll rest tomorrow and Saturday.

DH and I finally got out for a ride and his first chance to try out his new Speedplay Frogs - first time ever clipless. He did flawlessly! I'm still recovering from the stomach whatever that nailed me Monday, so it was perfect to get out for an easy 10 miles. Fun

Today was a perfect day. My hubby and I went for a 38 mile ride with a pretty good head wind in both directions. Well, we had a tailwind for like, 7 miles! I felt very strong even after doing 58 on Tues. We stopped for tacos along the way (which was when the wind shifted) and I dropped the hammer at the last hill and put a hurt on him. Made me feel good to be the first one back for once! After cleaning up he made sure to make this day perfect for me and we got a scoop of B'n'R to cap it all off. Too bad today has to end.

Got in just 10 mi, on beautiful roads up in IFJane's neck of the woods, 30 miles north of me. As she said in her post (above), I was supposed to join her, but erred when I stopped to ask someone if I was heading in the right direction (in my truck). The fellow sent me so far out of the way that I was a half hour late showing up at the ride start, sigh! (Note for future reference that ALL Baptist churches, at least in Madison County, are old, painted white and conveniently located at crossroads! Dozens of 'em, LOL! )

I arrived wayyy too late to catch up with Jane, so I unloaded the bike and did an out-and-back on my own......Incredible evening sky, perfect temperature (@65), rolling landscape, Blue Ridge Mountains as a backdrop. Would have been much more fun riding with company, but at least I got in a beautiful solo trek!

P.S. Come on out for the 21st annual Tour de Madison on May 17. If what I saw last night is any indication, it's going to be a gorgeous ride! See Jane's post under Mid-Atlantic for details.

Took a newbie out on her first bike ride today. It's always so much fun introducing someone new to the sport. We didn't make it far though before the storms hit. We knew the possibility of rain was, well, 100% but she wanted to at least get in a few miles since she had been pumped all day. We rode about 7.5 miles before we were forced to stop. That's okay though. We both got many smiles in.

Went out with a good friend for a training ride. Supposed to do 2x20 mins at Tempo, with a warmup, cool down and 10 min rest in between intervals. I have never done a structured training before, and keeping my HR between 132 and 151 for 20 mins was HARD! I feel like I have NEVER ridden that slowly before. In 1:18, we only rode 18.5 miles, but I stuck to the plan. I just hope that it really does pay off.

Oh - we finished the ride with salad, chili, beer, yesterday's stage of Paris-Nice, and booking a trip to CA in June to do some riding - my first AWAY vacation in about 5 years!

    wimp

Yep, wimped out due to cold rain. Instead of going outside like the rest of you lucky ladies, I spent an hour with coach Troy yesterday. The Sufffer-O-Rama... actually fit well with what was on my schedule to do anyway -- power intervals. But Coach Troy made me do WAY more than what the book was asking of me. But, far be it from me to ignore an order! I hung in there. Ouch! But I felt good afterwards. Not as good as if I'd been outside in my shorts, but good enough for now!
