    Question Titanium vs steel

Does anyone have an opinion on Titanium vs steel for road bikes. I love the ride of steel and its repairable. Titanium is more expensive but it will last forever. I read Sheldon Brown's take on it but I was wondering if any of you have actually ridden both. Is the ride like steel or more whippy. Terry has a new Isis with both wheels 650. Its comparable to having a custom built though as far as price.

Oh, that is such a hard comparison to describe. I have both. The best I can say is that steel is more lively. Ti soaks up the road buzz and is smooth. Someone else may differ with me just because trying to put the feel into words is difficult. You can leave Ti unpainted and not worry about scratches or rust. Of all the frame materials, these 2 are probably the closest in feel. Now that was really helpful, wasn't it?
