    NEW (old) BIKE!

I posted in the commuter section a month ago that I might buy an old Triumph (Raleigh) three-speed, but the man decided not to sell her. But NOW I found a beautiful 1962 Schwinn Traveler and I am getting her!!! She is one year older than me (hee hee). I may not get her for a couple weeks but in the meanwhile her current owner sent pictures for me to drool over. I am so excited!!!

Very nice condition. Sounds like a great find. I had one just like that, except in gold.

Maybe you should have written "old new bike" because it doesn't look like it's ever been ridden! Where's it been all these years, in a vault?

    This is like an adoption

    Is that a generator light?
    Does it work?
If so, major score in my book!

That's OK, my '69 benz is 6 years younger than me and insured under an antique car policy....

You are going to have so much fun with that! Those old/new bikes are great! Congrats. I scored an old Schwinn, although not nearly in as good of shape as yours, but I loved that thing. The seat was just like yours and I found it to be very comfortable when I rode around town.

I just need to find a replacement generator. If anyone has one in a box of parts, let me know. Can't wait to get a couple of baskets and go to market on this baby!
