    Feb 18th Rides

Hey hey hey . . . I hope everyone got out today for a ride! Especially you ladies in the northwest! Didn't we have a gorgeous day?! Yesterday Joe and I were freezing the first ten miles of our ride. I was smarter today, I waited for the sun to warm things up a bit before I started my ride! I had today off for President's Day. Let's see . . . day off plus sunny day equals a road ride! I didn't have anyone to ride with today (Joe had to work and I couldn't reach my two friends who do ride and my daughter was locked up in our computer room doing homework) so I hit the local trail in Orting, alone but safe. I did an out and back and got 31 miles in. It was just a great ride on such a gorgeous day!

My daughter just asked me about Perry's 5:30 spin class this afternoon. She wanted to know if I was still going?! I told her I may! It's with Perry and his classes are HARD! I haven't missed one yet so yes spin class today too! I'll just add one hour of hard spinning (about 18 miles) to my total mileage today and call it good!

I got in a grand 2 miles, LOL! Too windy to ride my regular road bike, so I spent 15 minutes toodling around the neighborhood on my (27-year) old commuter, making sure it's up to snuff for riding to campus tomorrow. It suffered a spectacular flat about a month ago and I hadn't ridden it since fixing the tire...........She's now good to go tomorrow morning. Whether I'll be up for riding if it's 35 degrees at 7:00 a.m.---well, that's another question!

Presidents' Day and I had to work....but never fear! I bailed at 1 p.m. and was on the bike by 2:15. After spending a morning not feeling so good, I decided to get out with Michael (almost DH) & a friend. Michael and I left from here on our bikes & picked up our friend at a nearby "town". We rode a wonderful 31 miles. Weather was mostly cloudy and about 55 degrees. Winds were probably about 16 mph out of the west. Great riding - as long as we were heading east!

Yes, it certainly was a gorgeous day here in the NW today. Did a 30 mile group ride on the BG trail (which is starting to feel more and more like riding off-road) down to lake union to have lunch at Ivars. Basked in the sunshine on the way back, pleasantly stuffed with salmon. mmmmm.

Yep, gorgeous today. Just got in a quick 10 miles, but it was worth it to get out in the sun.
