I feel your pain! It was 70 today here in central NC and of course I was stuck at the office. Wahhhhhhh! I did get out at noon and take a nice walk, but I sure would have liked to take a nice long bike ride. Sigh....

    Drip, drip, drip

At least that's what it's been doing on the weekends here. The past 3, 4, I forget how many weeks it's been now, have had OK days in the middle, but ALL the weekends have been rainy. All day. Both days.

Well, until this week. Sunday was awesome...and it was my turn to be with kiddo while hubby rode. Monday awesome, me chained to desk, then to previous after work commitment. Finally got in 51 minutes of riding today after work... in glorious 80 degree sunshine !!!

Long weekend ride? Ain't gonna happen. More rain in the forecast. Sigh.

I have the whole week off. It rained Monday and Tuesday. On Tuesday afternoon, my dad was released from the hospital but too weak to stay alone. I brought him home to stay with me for a few days. The rest of the week is supposed to be cold and snowy/icey. Yeah, I'm loving February. I guess the bright side is that I was home and able to care for dad.

barb... sending T's and P's for your dad... hope he will recover OK... my mom had a major surgery last October... 3 vertebrae fused in her neck... and recovered at my place... it was nerveracking and exhausting. Took her a while to be stable enough to do basic things alone... like using the bathroom. She is doing great now and I'm soooooo glad she was able to stay with me to recuperate...

Its 58 here today, partly cloudy still a great day to ride and here I am at work.

Tomorrow it will be in the 40's with a chance of flurries, Friday- I am off on fridays- sunny and 39 Sat. 47 and Sun. Rain. Sat may work if it reaches 47, I have a hard time staying warm in anything under upper 50's, plus my eyes water. grumble gripe moan.

We had 4 days of 60 deg here last week and I had to have gone out riding the night before. I got a cold and had to rest it all off. It was 30 the day I got better.
At least it was 60 for a lunch ride today, though I literally had to outrun a cold front thunderhead to get back to work dry now it's 23 summer will come. So will the races

I hear ya---I felt that same pain on Tuesday and Wednesday when the DC metro area was having spring-like temps. Irony of all, I called in sick to work because I have the flu, so even though I was at home, I felt too lousy to ride (still feel lousy). Try to think on the positive side: you don't have this awful bug that's making the rounds and if you bundled up a little, you still could get out there.

We were in the 60's on Tuesday as well. I pulled in some comp-time and went for a 3 lovely 3 hour ride (on the road; the trails are still too muddy).

    Ok, I'll shut up now....

Whew...Dad is back at his place. Son is at a friends but it is 30 out and a really cold wind is blowing .

I compromised and brought my bike in for the long overdue purchase of clipless pedals. I'm sure more falling down stories will follow.

    more rain

Here in the "sunny" South we've had almost daily rain for weeks now. Last Saturday was gorgeous; I had the bike in the car, all ready to go...and then the stomach bug hit, accompanied by 102 fever. So much for that. Got well just in time to go back to work on Monday.

Finally got out yesterday for a good ride...only one hour but lots of hill work. Bike is new (and I'm new to biking) but I was thrilled to see I'd hit 31.5 mph. Fun! Got to the parking lot, stopped, and fell over. Scratched the elbow but not the bike.

Raining again today, rain forecast all week. Y'all hang in there. Only one more week of February!
