One wonders how fast they would have been going if they were bicyclists. Oy.

This is a 21-year old professional motorcycle racer. He was injured while road riding (on his bicycle) with his two brothers. They were going between 35 and 40 miles an hour. The two brothers (Tom and Nick) were in front. This guy (Roger) was following. There was a small pole on the road. Tom and Nick saw it and slit it. Roger didn’t see it until it was too late because he was on his brothers’ wheels. He hit the pole and took a pretty bad fall! His quote about having all the asphalt removed from his skin for an hour and a half was, “That was great, let me tell you.”
These guys aren’t bicyclists. I’ll bet they don’t know about the courtesy of calling out obstacles when group riding. As a mountain biker who has only been road riding for a few years, I can remember how funny I thought it was that the roadies call out stuff on the ride—rider up, glass, pot hole, etc. But I can sure see how important it can be. When you’re in the pack, you can’t see what’s in the path.

Nice road rash! WOW! Thanks for this good reminder... and the visual certainly helps you remember.
What more can I say? Landing on dirt is so much easier.

J/K...but the nice visual certainly didn't hurt! If you are going to make a point on this board, using buff 21 year old male bodies is probably a good start.![]()
Are you in marketing Adventure Girl?
Tell Roger to heal quickly. I imagine that if he races motorcycles, crashing at 40mph didn't even phase him.
OHMY
GAWD!!!
