As to a combo mp3 cell phone, I've always feared that the strengths of the phone are diluted when other stuff is added, but that is likely not true with new technology.

Consumer Reports recommends the following with Music Capability for Verizon:

    LG VX8350
    LG Chocolate VX8550
    LG Wave

These three models were #1, #3, and #4 respectively

    Hmmm...looks like they like LG...

I have the LG Chocolate listed in Mr's post. The downside is that to make it music capable, you need to purchase a card, software, earphones, etc. to the tune of about $250. Latest iPod Nano cost? $199 for 8GB.

I haven't used the music functionality, needless to say.

I do like the phone though!

My new in two just came up, as well. Since my daughter has a phone, too, I went with the Chocolates simply because of the offer they had (buy one of any color for $29...get a black one free). I originally wanted a Voyager...but didn't want to spend $250.

Anyway, we're happy with our Chocolates. We don't use them as music phones, though, since we have ipods. My only beef would be that the little wheel-thingymabob is very sensitive even at the lowest settig. Oh...I also got VZ Navigator on my phone and it works great!

I was looking more at the Samsung's, specifically the Juke. I've had good luck with their phones in the past , and it appears that the Juke has everything (RAM and headphones) included.
One of my Train buddues has the Chocolate and likes it.
I'm going to stop by the VZ store after work. more reports to come....

Here's what Consumer Reports says about the Juke:

The Samsung Juke is not as advanced as the LGs, but in some ways it's more fun. When folded closed, this swivel phone looks like a slightly plump flash MP3 player, complete with a click wheel and a narrow LCD screen. But push one of its corners and it flicks open like a switchblade, instantly transformint it into a fashionably thin cell phone.
