    Running Week - Jan. 22nd to 28th - Because I can.

    To disable ads, please log-in.

    I run because I can.

And because it's beautiful in the world out there at 7:30 in the morning as the sun rises and the moon sets.

Short, slow run this morning, but happiness for the whole day!

Thanks for starting the new week

I had a slow 2.5 miles this morning. It was cold! But it was clear and beautiful and I was surprised I wasn't really sore from my 7 mile run yesterday.

2.95 miles this evening for me in the full moon and the cold.

It was spectacularly beautiful. Too bad my legs felt spectacularly horrid. Heavy and stiff. Oh yeah, that's why I don't run back to back days usually.

Oh well, at least I got outside.

Three AWESOME miles!!! The best time I have ever run. I won't post my time because I am sure it is slow for most of you, but I am very close to my speed goal and that tickles me to death.

Also swam 800 meters (and came pretty close to a PR on that, too)!

It is going to be a fantastic day!!!

3.5 miles today. This was day 3 with no break and while I didn't have to walk, it wasn't as comfy as it could be. I will take a day off tomorrow. The good part of it all is I'm to 13 miles for the week so far which means I'll make my goal of 20 miles!

Another great thing is I'm to the stage where I kind of want to walk just because various things hurt but I don't. I actually have the choice whether or not to walk and that is kind of cool.

I'm taking the week off running due to my bruised/twisted ankle from the trail race the other weekend. I may try a short 2-3 mile run this weekend.

I was a naughty girl though and swam last night. But I only kicked with one leg, so I didn't do the ankle any harm. And dang, it sure felt good to move!

I did my first 5k run since all of the PT, etc this Fall. My hammies were feeling a bit tight during my stretches so I didn't push it very hard. There was a beautiful (nearly) full moon hanging in the sky.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

I am happy to read others are having beautiful running times...

Went for a tempo run this morning. A lonely one, as my running partner greeted me in her pajamas and was too tired to run. But it was beautiful, although hard. Those crisp, clear days are soon to be replaced by more rain, so I'm enjoying it while I can!

2.5 miles on the treadmill at the work gym at lunchtime. I usually do between 3 and 3.5 miles, but the battery in my MP3 player was dead, much to my chagrin, and running on the treadmill without music is near-about impossible for me!

    Oh well, better than nothing....

2.65 on the treadmill, nice and slow. It was my first run since the 1/2 marathon last weekend and it felt pretty good.

I ran on the indoor track today. I don't know why I thought it would be warm in there but I did. I was wearing shorts and a sleeveless top and I was freezing. Colder than I would have been if I'd bundled up and run outdoors at -15.

It is very boring running on a track. My garmin data looked funny on a track. Plus I guess I didn't turn it off after the run because it said I ran 8.5km instead of 3.5 and that my top speed was 68 kmh. Hee hee....

I've left mine on in the car before too But that's GPS data from indoors, not foot pod? Is yours a ForeRunner 305? I guess they really do have a better antenna than the 301.

3.5 for me yesterday, nice and easy, just staying loose. It put me over 50 miles for the year. How did this happen - signing up for this 5K just because I've wanted the cool T-shirt for 3 years now - turned into actually training for it Now I need a new pair of shoes, too.

I'm lucky I'm slow, it's one sure way to keep my competitiveness from eating me up I was out riding with a couple of guys the other day, at a fairly spirited pace. One of them I hadn't really ridden with before, he says to me, "You could be really good at this." I'm like, "Dude, I've done 'could be good at this,' and it's why I didn't ride at all for 10 years." I know myself better than that now

    I'm sick. Haven't been running

I just watched the trailer for Spirit of the Marathon movie (you can check it out on Youtube). It's from the 2006 Chicago Marathon--the one marathon I've run. It got me all excited to do another one. I'm thinking . . . . maybe the Denver Marathon this time. Can't wait to go home and talk to DH about it. They even have a mini-mile-marathon for kids under 4. DD would LOVE that.
