while riding a tendency to vomit..?

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Usually I have no problem while riding, but occasionally I'll be riding. I may be ascending, descending, or on flat and suddenly my body will make me want to vomit. When I close my mouth and breath through my nose, everything is fine, but if I continue to breath in through my mouth I will eventually end up puking. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks for any help.

    Hi Shaun
The only time I have had a tendency to want to vomit is when I am pushing myself real hard and my heart rate is elevated almost to max.

But from your post, this is happening at any given moment? You are not at the limit of your heart rate, are you?

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
    "I will try again tomorrow".

Same here, when I'm pushing myself really hard. I had an incident once where I was low on water that I started to feel the same way as well. But it's not an out of the blue sort of thing.

Hitting your max heart rate will often trigger the vasovagal response, which has a tedency to lead to upchucking. Hyperventilating can also do this, are you taking care to take slow long breaths in and out?

Sean already said "he" was going to race Cat 5 on another thread, so I assumed he was a guy.

    Maybe not?

I get the queasies when I do a lot of hill work. Does it get better with training? I've not lost my breakfast, but I get a tinge of nausea.

I think Shaun is a man and not a woman. Already said "I want to race in cat5" We don't have cat5. men do but not us. just not enough of us to field a cat 5.

and this question of chucking biscuits. If you've been riding for 15 years with thoughts of racing, I think he would already know the answer. and the answer is? Yes we do chuck biscuits.
