Run report for Las Vegas Half Mararthon

I wanted to give a report on the LV full and half Mararthon. This is my 3rd time running in Vegas but the 2nd since they changed where you run. We started in front of the Mandalay Bay Hotel with fire works and the lights of the strip. With 16,803 total runners, I think they did a great job with the flow of people. Some felt that corals were needed for estimated finish times and I would have to agree because I did get behind slower runners and had to zig zag around. There was lots of activity along the run to keep you going including bands, running Elvi (208 total), lots bride and grooms participated in a run thru wedding chapel at mile 5, and the Blue Man group performed at mile 3. It was very entertaining and keep my mind occupied.

We checked in at the MGM at 8:00 PM and were told we had been upgraded to a PENTHOUSE Suite!!! Too bad I had to go to sleep and wake up at 3:30AM . It was soooo nice!! I didn't stick around after the run I wanted to get back and enjoy the suite.

I really felt good on the run and finished in 2:01:29. It's a new PR for me for a half. I placed 93 out of 657 in my age group, 1765 out of 8162 overall and 590 out of 4774 females. Maybe sometime I can run under the 2:00 mark!! No injuries and my DH was waiting at the end.
