Hello, ladies (and some gents)! I was sort of a peripheral member of this cycling community (mostly reading, rarely posting). I did not ride for several months, partially because I hate the Texas heat/humidity, partially because I had some personal issues I needed to overcome. However, I have had a new addition to my family, and I could not think of a group of people who would appreciate it more. Behold...THE SPANISH BABY!! This is a stock Google image, hopefully I can get a picture of my actual bike soon. I got an incredible deal on this (nearly half off) and I am so stoked about riding again. I can't wait to start riding more often.

I would love to hear all about your Orbea: model, parts, decision-making process on it, all the stuff. Welcome back!

Meaux, welcome back. What a gorgeous bike! Come back often as you can to update us on your new adventures with your Orbea.
What a beautiful bike you have added to your stable. May you have many happy and safe miles on it.

It's a fully 105-equipped bike, with carbon fiber seat and chain-stays, seat post, and steerer. I have a Specialized Lithia 105 seat on it and a lovely wingbar. I had actually wanted a Roubaix, and we were supposed to get one, but the store had unknowingly sold it before they told us about it. However, the shop is new and wanted some return business, so they sold the Orbea to me for $1100. It's pretty ridiculous. I had not even looked at the Orbeas because they were so expensive. However, I now have the most beautiful bike I have ever owned. I rode it a few days after I got it, and it rides like a dream. I'm in love...
It sounds great! What model is it?

It's a 2007 Aqua Dama. Pictures will be forthcoming. It's been SUPER rainy lately, so we haven't gotten dressed out to ride. I was pretty excited about getting a women's specific design that wasn't pink or baby blue.
Welcome back Meaux
Your bike looks to be almost the exact same shade as my road-race bike... shes an EMC2
I agree - it is so good to have a women's specific bike which is not in "girly" colours. Mine is quite striking

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
"I will try again tomorrow".
Here are some pictures of my ACTUAL bike. My DH took them according to the rules of taking good bike pictures on Bikeforums.net. I have actually had people match speeds with me to look at the bike since I've bought it.
Very pretty! I love the way they did the graphics on the top tube.
