    Phil Wood bearing dust caps.

I'm in need for new bearings for my Shimano Hollowtech II outboard bracket.

Now my problem is that it's not difficult to get new PW bearings PWX05, but because these bearings are 1mm thicker than standard i can't use the standard dustcap wich has an instep of 1mm and that's the problem when i use this in combination with the PW bearings.

The total width of the BB is than too wide.

Now there maybe a q'n why as the seals prevent dust coming in.
Yes, that's true, but the bearings are not level with the bearing cups als also the ID of the bearing is bigger than the OD of the crankshaft.
That's the problem why i need these dust caps.

The funny thing is that on the PW site there is no picture of these dust caps, but maybe one of you girls has seen them somewhere.

Because Shimano has a special deal with the bearing manufacturer in Japan this size of 6 mm is only made for Shimano and can't be bought anywhere.

No this is in intself no problem as all the after market suppliers have 7 mm thickness bearings, but it's the dust caps with no instep that is needed the most.

My q'n is where can i get these PW dust caps (these have no 1mm instep) or any other make that can help me solving this problem.

    Thanks.

I expect these parts to be in the mail before the end of the year and making me one very happy girl.

So no more worries by using the shimano stuff, but going for a very, very good if not better alternative from Phil Wood.
