    Wrist and foot pain

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I've been working really hard at keeping my shoulders and elbows relaxed while I ride and changing hand positions frequently, but I'm still having some wrist pain in my left wrist. I'm also getting a cramp on the outside of my left foot while I ride. I have SPD pedals that are about as loose as they can go, so I'm moving my foot around as much as possible. Any suggestions?

I have recurrent carpal tunnel so I hear ya. Brake lever angle and reach are really important, not too high and not to low. The lever should run a straight line along your forearm.
Seat angle and fore/aft is big too. The seat being too far back or tilted forward will cause your hands to take a lot more load. The other side effect of a seat too far back is your arms can't bend comfortably.
    I hope that helped

On the leg strain, It sounds a bit like a high seat. That would cause you to be reaching for the pedal, thus straining the tendon which goes through your feet.

Love your handle! Can you really fix anything on a bike? Wish I could say that..........

Your cleat position on the shoe could be causing the problem with your foot. You might want to try some adjustments there and see if it helps. Good luck.
