So, after posting a Warm wish to all you chicks & our couple of approved dudes- Mr. Silver, PscyclePath- I am going to Kroger to pick up my last fixin's
and go home to cook a Red Velvet Cake, Ambrosia, Green Bean Casserole- Ssweet taters with a praline topping and cornbread dressing- Mr. Clint aka the Big Man is going to smoke the turkey.

I plan to finish my thanksgiving celebration on Friday by going to LR to ride with pscyclepath if it's not too chilly for my thin blood.

I don't know if I willl have time to log back in later today- byt just in case anybody wants any of MY receipes- my home e-mail is pew@tecinfo.com

Happy Turkey Day to one and all! I'm getting ready to load my car and head to Chattanooga to join my sisters, their spouses and my parents for Thanksgiving. It will be a flying trip by all standards but I'm looking forward to be surrounded by those I love and those who love me. I wish one and all a joyous Thanksgiving and safe journeys to all who must travel.

We're heading to a small town in the mountains, with hiking shoes and bikes, just the two of us. Have a great weekend, everyone -- I'm hoping to be offline until Monday!
For 3 days, I get to part of a thousand other journeys.

Chatanooga choo choo... won't you choo choo me home...

    LOL
I grew up with that song - my Dad loved "big band" music...
Thats all I could hear as I read your post!

Of course, we don't do ThanksGiving here - but wishing all of you that do a wonderful family time (not at all like those movies where everything goes wrong!)
We do have wild turkeys all over the farm so I'll be letting them know how lucky they are that they live here ... or they might be finding their into numerous ovens!

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
    "I will try again tomorrow".

Hub- I thought of you today... I seriously saw a Delta State "Fighting OKra" license plate frame on a car at Target. It made me laugh as I was fighting all the stress of the day because I remembered a little graphic you posted of the Fighting Okra.

We are headed to my parents tonight for Thanksgiving. Tomorrow at 4:00 am we are heading to DISNEYWORLD!! I am such a kid, I just love Disneyworld. I am the youngest going on this trip- hehe!

    Happy Thanksgiving TE!

You can get red velvet cake at the country store on the corner by my house. The woman (she has to be 85 years old) whose family owns the store makes it every week and will make a whole one on request.

I should go get me some.

    Southern Belle,
I tried to send you an entire layer of the cake- like a frisbee!
I had started icing the cake, myhusband called me into the den to hear a news story- I sat down for a 'minute'- we heard a splat. - I went back inthe kitchen & found that an wntire layer had skated off - the cake was still warm - the cream cheese frosting was melty & oozy- and zoom!

It is Devils Food Cake with red food coloring to make it a deep red. My husband had it as his groom's cake at our wedding- delicious!! And no, it wasn't an armadillo (if you saw Steel Magnolias you know what I am talking about).

I deeply appreciate all efforts to forward the R.V. cake.
Have you ever tried it with cherries?

To make up for your failures I had cheesecake.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I just pulled the Angelfood cake out of the oven. We're not close to any of our family so we're doing a neighborhood meal next door. It should be great fun complete with some bike talk since my neighbor is one of those crazy cycling people.
