Freaky..another reason to wear a helmet..(not me this time)

This photo below is real and was worn up until last night by Ian''s co worker... (i'll try and resize it..)

Amazingly, Barry escaped with only a scratch! Here's the email ian sent round to us today..(I'd post the photo of barry but i haven't asked his permission.)

'He was wearing the helmet when the helmet got run over.
We are not completely sure how he got out so well.

The pet theory right now is that the as the helmet was crushed - it spat
his head out (like a pip!!), and broke the chin strap as he did it.

But, and I say this with a high degree of confidence - Barry was wearing
the helmet when he got run over. He's a sensible guy. In fact, after he
heard about Cheryl smacking her head in her big off he went and bought a
new helmet because his previous one was a bit old. He has ridden with
    the new helmet four times.

    It just paid for itself.

He has been into the docs today to get his noodle X-Rayed - doesn't seem
    to be any problems.

    LUCK, Blind LUCK.'

    Amazing hey..

    Wow! Lucky rider!
What state are the straps in. Hard to believe that stuff failed. Maybe the buckle failed (also highly unlikely)

Glad he survived and all... but CC... you left a vital element of th story out (unless you posted it elsewhere and I missed it)

Why was his helmet near a car tyre?

I am assuming he wasn't having a cat nap on the road... or so engrossed in folling the path of an ant he didn't realise he had crawled onto the road...

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
    "I will try again tomorrow".

    ummm

Roadraven..I believe the gent was on a footpath going up a one way street & somehow the driver didn't see him...something along those lines..He went under the car & his helmet popped. I'll get the story straightened out with ian & let you know...

Ian says that Barry wasn't at work today so i do hope he's ok!

I guess if nothing else he will have a mighty headache...

And Barry was on a footpath??? If that is the case (interested to hear Ian's confirmation of events) then I hope the driver REALLY gets the book thrown at him - maybe the whole library!
