    A Glorious Day!

Life is just NOT fair! Three day weekend, one day of rain, two days of marginal weather.

Today is a beautiful day! The sun is shining, it's a little warmer than the past two days. It is a PERFECT day for a nice long bike ride. And I am stuck in my stinky classroom.

I did enjoy my short ride in to work. Mt Diablo is looking good again today, swathed in clouds at the summit, sunny below. The trees are still a magnificent red. I didn't see any ducks in the canal today - last week there were 4 pair.

Hopefully I'll be able to get out for a short ride this afternoon. Sometimes I wish I had a job where I could set my own hours.

Can you sneak away at 3 and ride for an hour? I often do that if I can.

That's my plan! Although it will be about 4 that I'll head out. I'll get home after dark, but I have good lights. Still it will only be about twenty miles and it's a perfect sixty mile day.

Hope you managed to make the most of whatever was left of the lovely weather. I've just plotted myself a nice little 20km route to school for next year. I could get there in 12km, but less traffic and more scenery are good things. I'm soooo looking forward to riding to work again. (It'll certainly do the muffin-tops good! )

No Thom and I made dinner instead - meatloaf with this really good BBQ topping and mashed potatoes with root vegetables.

Cooking together is a pleasure too.

It's pretty tasty and now I have leftovers for the week. Tonight I've made plans to ride with a fellow teacher. She's gotten much faster in the last year and is a great local training buddy. It was always nice to ride with her, but now we're closer in abilities. And she's decided to try riding through the winter, which is really cool since it's my training season for DMD.
