    building my bike

I wasn't sure if I should post it here or post it under the bike section. Well, I hope the open topic is okay.

Late afternoon, after I picked up the SRAM groupo and taking inventory. Realized that my box of goodies was missing cable housing, brake cables and other misc. thing.

ran the cable through the cable housing and taping down onto the handle bar. And yes you do need to tape down the cable housing before you apply the handle bar tape.

after the bar tape applied and now its complete around the handle bar.

just realized that the frame is missing the emblem on the head tube. Oh well. what can I expect for $200.00 (fork is carbon, seat post carbon, top tube carbon seat stay carbon rest are 7005 Aluminum.) BTW, what is the legal minimum weight of the bike? I don't remember off hand. somewhere around 15lb or 16 lb. but what was it? cranks, derailleure will have to wait for the wheels. Monday I hope.

I decided to sell the SRAM FORCE brake calipers and use my vintage Shimano 600 brake calipers (circa 1984) out of my box of goodies. Also have NOS (new old stock) brake pads.

    I don't care!

I am so impressed that you can do that! Love your bike! I can't wait to see more updates.

psssst....anyone that can build bikes like that should ask Santa for a workstand.

Like Sandra, I'm super impressed that you did that. I tried to rebuild a bike, but had to take it to the shop to have them finish my mess. I love the red bar tape- very sexy.
Congrats on your new ride- when will it be totally finished and ready to ride?

Wow, really neat! Beautiful bike. I love the look of your SRAM levers, too.

PS: I love your painted table. Did you paint the flowers on it?

    What frame is it?

K2 MOD6 (its their top of the line frame. Stll no where near Cervelo, Kuota...)

    When will it be finished?

As soon as the front deraillure with clamp on comes in. I have the braze on but that doesn't work.

    Flower on the table?
My partner bought it a shop already painted. And it was used in a show room for a while then made it to my house.

I will post when its done.
    Thanks ,

That is the slickest $200 frameset I have ever seen. Your bike is going to look really amazing! The combo of carbon SRAM bits, the ITM bars, red tape (my personal favorite) and white housing and saddle gives your bike a super nice euro look. I look forward to seeing it completed.

almost finished. missing front deraillure thus the dangling black cable. And it also needs a brake pad for the front. Just a bit more but you get the idea. seat height ajusted rear brake already adjusted. Oh I decided to get the white $30.00 bottle cage. I think it'll be pretty on this bike.

The angle of the shot makes the geometry of the bike look bit funny.

very slick. I'm partial to the red-white-black Wisconsin Badgers color scheme . you'll have to report on how you like the SRAM stuff.. and definitely get a stand for xmas!
