    A book club kinda place.

My friend just sent me an invite to this book club web-site anybody interested?
I just joined Shelfari to connect with other book lovers. Come see the books I love and see if we have any in common. Then pick my next book so I can keep on reading.

Oh I am so happy some of you are joining with me! But who is John W? It worries me a bit. Are there men lurking on this site we don't know about (besides Mr Silver who doesn't lurk)?

There are several men posting regularly now. Some make it obvious by their names, others not so.

    Hey Brandi,

I love to read too, but when I looked at shelfari it was waaaaaaaaaaay slow. I'll look at it again another time.

Read anything lately that you'd recommend?

I just finished Ann Patchett's Run, and loved it. Warm, flawed human characters, coming together in interesting ways. Five stars, two thumbs up, top of my list, etc. etc.

Also just read The Memory Keeper's Daughter for my book club. It was a good book club choice, because there was a lot to discuss, but I'd give it a mixed review in terms of a read. I wanted to keep reading to find out what would happen, but found the characters a little puppetish.

    Book recommendations, anyone?

Too bad they don't have a way to suggest a book to another club member without going through an outside email system.
i wanted to suggest Madame Bovary.

I have found a bunch of books I want to read there. I just explored the site. I think that might be the case with this place. I read a bunch of reviews by people etc.. I already have a list going. Hope it's a cold winter so I can read them all!

I just joined a similar site called GoodReads

Checkout my reading list on Goodreads - where you can see what your friends are reading.

I joined, and I'm trying to figure out how it works. I have a friend there, but don't know how to link her. I also have to wait until I get home and look at my reading list.
