Second MS150 Completed! Dolce Elite Question

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Well I completed my second MS150 yesterday! The Bike to the Beach, Valero San Antonio to Corpus Christi, TX was the best (and hardest) one yet!!!

So I have put on 737 miles on my used Trek 1000 and thinking of traiding "Bride of Frankenstein" (my piecemeal bike's name) up for a new one, heard some good things about the Specalized Dolce Elite but would not buy one without asking my friends at TE first!!! Any comments?!?!

Congrats on finishing the 150! My Specialized Allez Sport carried me successfully on the Tour earlier this month. Can't say anything about the Elite, but I like my Allez. I think in the scheme of things the Elite is better than the Allez

Congrats on completing the MS150. That is way cool. No input on the bike choice.

Congrats on completing the ride! I'm aiming to do the 150 in CT next year. As for the bike, I bought the Dolce Elite this summer. It was my first road bike, so I don't have much to compare it to, but I love it! Since there wasn't much else in that price range, I didn't have a lot to pick from, but it was the most comfortable to me. I'm 5'-1", and I definitely noticed a difference between the Dolce and the Allez. I didn't feel like I was streched out and my shoulders were more in-line. I had been riding my Specialized Hard Rock with road tires and had issues with my shoulders cramping and my left foot going numb. No more of that! And it got me through the MS 62-miler here in September I've definitely got the cycling bug now, and I think this bike will carry me along for many happy miles.

I had a Dolce Comp 2005 (now have a Ruby). The Dolce is a great WSD bike. I put 4000 miles on the bike.

The Allez is not WSD otherwise for a regular size bike it is also a great bike.
