    So......how was everyone's ride today?

I had a reprisal of yesterday. Our little group headed out 7:30 a.m. with temps of 48 F., winds SSW at 9 mph. We rode 32 miles and the last 16 were headwinds of 15-17 mph. I was really glad to get back to the car!

    Great day for a ride!

The wind stopped, now it's just a light rain. Nice and chilly. Quiet streets this early on a Saturday morning. I really like riding in the rain. (wore wool, but just regular cotton capris. I only rode for an hour or so, so I didn't really need my bike shorts/capris/skort/chamois. didn't need a rainjacket, either; not heavy enough rain)

The trees have all changed color near me, and the ocean was a nice gray like the gray clouds. Islands a darker slate. Quiet on the side streets, just the sound of the rain on the leaves.

Riding Trek's mixte ss made me think about gearing and shifting (and how I do tend to shift too often). Tried to be less of a hyper-shifter today.

I'll be a nicer person today, cuz i got to go for a ride.

Now to get out of my wet clothes and make some breakfast! (salmon, rice, broccoli, and eggs)

    Turned out great!
Did the club ride, the went ad did a little pre-riding on my fleche route. Found a problem spot and a solution. Plus I picked up some partners for the Fleche.
72 miles (ok, maybe I overdid it)

DH and I rode a total of 33 miles along the Sakatah trail today. It was windy! Rode through a state park, along lakes, etc...probably the last time we will get out on bikes together before the snow flies.

DH and I did 40 miles from the house. About 27 of those were with a 20 mph head or crosswind. Winds really break me down mentally and I was happy today that I didn't let it! Average speed was 15.5, not too bad with the wind.

It was a very pretty and slightly warm day out this way. I managed to get in 31 miles with some wind and about 2700 ft of climbing. I had my personal best speed on one of the downhills (I finally broke 40)! It was my first ride with my Garmin Edge 305- I'm a convert!!

I did a 30 mile ride with my friend's husband (well, he's my friend, too). Steve was finishing up the last of our home projects. I still am not doing that great health wise, but I HAD to get out. Beautiful weather, about 65 degrees and the colors are really starting to show here. There was a lot of climbing for a short ride (around 2300 feet) and one hill really got to me. After that, I felt a little better. We went down 2 roads that I have never been on and they were nice straight downhills. On the way back, I saw one of my former colleagues and stopped and chatted. It was a bit windy and depressing to see the car lights on at 4:30!
