    Surprise...DH has been shopping!

On Friday when I got home from school, there was box addressed to my husband at the door. eBay. No surprise there. I waited until he got home, and then....

SURPRISE for me. A brand new Xterra Vector Pro 2 wetsuit.

    Nice....

My current wetsuit was purchased use and is getting some holes. So I am going to train in that one and race in the new one.

I am not sure if I should take it to Tahoe or not. I am worried about trying anything new for such a big race. Even if I swim in it before the race, it would only be once or twice.

( oh and I just found out that the run course is basically flat, thank-you racing gods...)

That is so exciting and SO nice of him!!! Good surprises are the best.

Maybe see how it goes if you practice in it? Might be ultra comfy though I understand how you wouldn't want to race in something you hadn't worn very much.

Hmm, I know "nothing new on race day" but that said, if you can get just one or two sessions in the new suit and feel good, I'd probably go with the new one if it is of similar style to your current one.

My thinking is it will be *your* suit, it's new and in great condition, and you may just feel faster and/or more comfortable in it...

If you don't think you can get any practice time with it, probably better to go with what you know.

Either way, pick one and move on to other decisions - I'm sure you will find more interesting things to have your mind wonder about!

AWWWWWW! That's so thoughtful of him! What a well trainined hubby you have!

Yeah. Try it out. Perhaps do one session in your new suit and do a sprint trial... and compare to your old suit. Which ever one makes you go faster use that. ^_^

Wow- too cool!!!! What a GREAT DH!

I'm sure this is too late, but I'd try it out. If you're comfortable in it for 30 min, you should probably be fine for race day. Just body glide that neck extra thick and enjoy that 59 degree water (my friend who's also going to Nationals told me the current water temp and I about flipped out- yikes).

    When do you leave?
